National seminar of Healthy Cities of the Czech Republic National Network “CITIES & ENERGY – Climate, Practice, Sharing”

On 19 January 2024, a Czech national seminar with a comprehensive programme on “CITIES & ENERGY – Sharing, Climate, Practice” took place in Prague, organised with the support of the CapaCITIES project. In its opening part, representatives of the Ministries of Environment and Local Development, together with the State Environmental Fund, presented the financial resources and general support that cities, municipalities and regions can use for their energy and environmental protection projects. Among the topics addressed, there were: the path to a climate-neutral city (the city of LIBEREC selected in the EU Mission Cities), decarbonisation in practice (RINGEN LITOMERICE), action plans for sustainable energy and climate (TÁBOR), community energy and electricity sharing (LAG OPAVSKO, PRAGUE, UNION OF COMMUNITY ENERGY, ENERGY REGULATORY OFFICE), as well as new legislation on energy and its impact in practice.

The seminar provided the opportunity to meet Mr. Tomas Nemec from the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, involved in the planning of the round table on climate for the youth, that will take place in Slovakia in the summer of 2024.
