Albanian Missions HUB contributes to the global dialogue on financing urban transitions
The Albanian Missions HUB, coordinated by the EU & Global Missions Center, contributed to the global dialogue on financing urban transitions at the Urban Transitions Mission (UTM) Global Innovation Summit held in Rio de Janeiro.
As a partner of the UTM Global Alliance, the EU & Global Missions Center facilitated the session “Setting up Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and Fit-for-Purpose Financing Instruments,” exploring how innovative financial mechanisms such as Urban SPVs and Transition Funds can help mobilise investment for net-zero urban transitions.
During the session, insights were shared by Roberta Talarico from the Albanian Missions HUB case lab, developed within the CapaCITIES framework, illustrating how mission-oriented governance models can align municipal assets, investors and communities around measurable ESG-driven impact.
The Summit gathered representatives from cities, institutions and innovation ecosystems worldwide to advance blended finance and multi-level governance approaches for sustainable urban transitions.
