Coordinating structure: Swedish Energy Agency (SWEA) is the Core Country organization and works with the Swedish Strategic Innovation Program Viable Cities to develop synergies with existing and planned activities and processes in Sweden. Viable Cities is a strategic innovation program in Sweden focusing on the transition to climate-neutral and sustainable cities, with more than 100 member organizations from public sector, civil society, academia and business. It acts as a catalyst for new forms of cooperation between cities, industry, academia, research institutes and civil society, to mobilize and change the way the Swedish cities operate in line with the national, environmental, and climate goals as well as the international commitments linked to the Global Sustainability Goals – Agenda 2030 – and the Paris Agreement.
